Chipping Norton Opticians have invested significantly in eye examination equipment. We are proud to be able to equip our optometrists with the latest technology with a view of accurate diagnosis of eye conditions.

Not only this benefits you as a patient but also makes the job of an optometrist easier and reassuring. From measuring a spectacle prescription as precisely as possible to examining the macula and optic nerve for certain eye conditions each consulting room is fully equipped so there is no need for ancillary staff to provide these tests. Your optometrist will perform all of the clinical examinations.

Optical Coherence Tomograpy

This amazing technology allows us to see the layers of the retina with a view of looking for certain eye conditions including macula degeneration. We also scan the optic nerve with a view of diagnosing glaucoma, hopefully at an early stage where is can then be treated and prevent vision loss. One of the great things OCT scans allow is the benefit of your optometrist and you as a patient to look at the scans together and discuss the findings. Most of the time this provides reassurance and baseline readings for the future examinations. Your optometrist will discuss with you if you should have an OCT scan.
